Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Project
On Dec. 6, 2016, the colleges officially kicked off implementation efforts for the Workday Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to replace the Ultipro employment portal. This Claremont colleges-wide project will allow us to align business processes, and provide updated technology in the areas of recruitment, hiring, onboarding, compensation/payroll and performance management. Kronos will be concurrently implemented as a time and attendance management tool.
The project was approved by the Council of The Claremont Colleges and is overseen by the Business and Finance Affairs Committee (BFAC) and Information Technologies Steering Committee (ITSC).
To ensure we have a full understanding of our needs, representatives from each college will play a significant role in the design and build of the new system and will also take part in targeted training sessions. This effort will take place over the next several months and will require a significant time commitment from staff in human resources, payroll, financial services and information technology.
We are working toward a spring 2018 go-live. There will be future opportunities for faculty and staff to learn more about the Workday HRIS project and Kronos, and what it means for you and the colleges.
The ability to integrate payroll and human resource data with the current Workday financial system, which was implemented last year, was a major factor in the decision to use Workday as the HRIS technology.
